Same day appointments are useful for patients who need to be seen for medical attention on that day. 

To request an urgent appointment, please phone the surgery on 01902 761629. You may be asked for some information so we can allocate the best medical professional to see you. 

You may not be seen by the Doctor of your choice based on availability for that day.

Routine Appointments

Please book advanced appointments as requested by doctor/nurse/clinical pharmacist.  You can book to see our nursing team for lifestyle advice, long term chronic conditions etc. 

Immunisations you can make an appointment to suit.

Some appointments may require more time and need to be booked with appropriate clinician. This is why important to ask what the appointment is for.

Appointment System

Patients are allocated a ten-minute appointment. We realise that some consultations may take longer than others and if the surgery does not run strictly to time, please be patient.

We would hope to see you within 30 minutes of your appointment time. If you do have to wait longer than this, you will be given a reason and the opportunity to make another appointment.

Cancelling or Changing your Appointment

Please let us know in good time if you are unable to attend so we can offer your appointment to another patient.

You can also complete our appointment cancellation notification request form. This can only be used if your appointment has been arranged for more than 24 hours in advance (excluding weekends and public holidays).

You can also text 'cancel' your SMS appointment reminder.

 

To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.

Telephone Calls

The telephone will be answered as promptly as possible. If the surgery is closed, you will be connected to an answering-machine which will give you further information. You will be able to speak to a doctor or nurse within two telephone calls.

You can help by understanding that our telephone lines are often busy at certain times of the day, particularly between 09:00am and 10:00am and 4:00pm and 5:00pm. 

Home Visits

If possible please try to telephone reception before 10:30am if you require a home visit (accept in an Emergency)

A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.

House visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the Health Centre.

Please note we are unable to visit patients at home during the weekend. This service is covered by the Out Of Hours provider.

GP Extended Hours

Extra Evening, Weekend & Bank Holiday Opening

Castlecroft works with a group of other GP Practices in Wolverhampton (Unity Hub) to provide additional access outside of normal opening hours. 

On Saturdays, Sundays & Bank Holidays at various times, and on weekdays between 6:30pm and 8:00pm; Castlecroft patients can access GP, Advanced Nurse Practitioner,  Clinical Pharmacist and Practice Nurse appointments at 2 other sites - please see poster below for details:- 

Unity Hub Additional Appointments

If you require an advance appointment at a Unity Hub Centre please call the surgery as usual. 

For same day bookings please use the telephone numbers on the poster above.

The 111 service also have access to Unity Hub appointments.

Treatment

The doctor or nurse will offer appropriate medical care as needed. You will be given a clear explanation of your proposed treatment, including any risks and options available. You will be referred to a specialist when this is felt necessary and with your agreement.

Our premises have full disabled access, dedicated toilet facilities, and a lift serving the upper floor.
